Margaret Martin

Margaret E. Martin, JD

Director - Office of Student Conduct

As Tulane University's Director of Student Conduct, Margaret Martin oversees case adjudication, manages investigations for alleged violations, and administers the Tulane University Code of Student Conduct. Leading the Office of Student Conduct, she ensures compliance with federal and departmental guidelines, while collaborating with university stakeholders for a streamlined conduct process. Previously, Margaret served as a federal and state prosecutor in Louisiana and as Tulane's Clery Act Coordinator. Margaret is an alumna of Tulane University, where she earned both her Juris Doctorate and Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. She is currently pursuing a Doctor of Education in Organizational Change and Leadership from the University of Southern California.

Adam Sullivan, MA

Assistant Director - Office of Student Conduct

Adam Sullivan serves as the Assistant Director for Student Conduct. Adam joined the Tulane family in 2021 and has worked to ensure that the Tulane Community lives up to its Common Values. Prior to joining Tulane, Adam worked in both conduct and residence life roles at The University of Kansas and Texas Tech University. Adam attended undergrad at Mississippi State University and completed his graduate degree at The University of Mississippi. Adam regularly works with Tulane’s Greek Letter Organizations to assist them in navigating complex behavioral issues that may arise. He regularly works with students and student groups on the concept of developing and maintaining a positive Town and Gown relationship between Tulane and its neighbors.

Eren Hayes, MFS

Investigator - Office of Student Conduct 

Eren Hayes, MFS, recently joined Tulane University in October 2023 as the Investigator for the Office of Student Conduct. Hayes is a distinguished United States Navy veteran with a rich professional background spanning forensic science, federal law enforcement, and investigation. After honorably serving in the Navy, Hayes pursued and achieved a Master's degree in Forensic Science, underscoring a deep commitment to the principles of justice and analytical excellence. This advanced education laid the foundation for a successful career in federal law enforcement, where Hayes has been recognized for exceptional investigative skills, integrity, and dedication to duty.

Beyond professional achievements, Hayes is also a talented trumpet player, showcasing a passion for music that complements a career marked by discipline and precision.

Samantha Burns

Administrative Program Coordinator

Samantha joined Tulane in December of 2023 as the Administrative Program Coordinator. In that role she provides support for department staff, including hearings, communications with students and families, as well as student conduct conferences. Samantha worked for several years at the Jewish Community Center, earned her Associate’s Degree from LSU-E, and is a proud alumna of Ben Franklin High School in New Orleans.

Ben Hailey

Program Coordinator - Office of Student Conduct

Ben is a New Orleans native who graduated from Tulane with a BA in Anthropology in 2019. He assist the office by answering questions students or parents may have about the conduct process as well as completing Dean’s Certifications for students. He is always happy to help if you have any questions or concerns about the Office of Student Conduct. When not in the office Ben can usually be found enjoying the breeze by the lake front or canoeing in the waterways around the city
